Chinese-Australian. Queer. Producer. Filmmaker. Sometimes photographer.

Tessa is a recognised emerging producer, selected for the Ones to Watch program in 2023 and featured in IF Magazine's 2024 list of Rising Talent. Since 2020, she has produced three feature films at Exile Entertainment, including 'Time Addicts' (2023), distributed by Umbrella Entertainment; 'Voices in Deep' (2023), showcased at MIFF and SXSW Sydney; and 'Slant' (2022). Her portfolio includes ARIA-nominated music videos and short films exhibited at major Australian and international festivals. Currently, Tessa is mentored by ARCADIA's Lisa Shaunessy and is an independent producer, developing a slate of short and feature film projects.

At Exile Entertainment, Tessa produced three feature films within three years, starting in 2020. 'Time Addicts' (2023, Umbrella Entertainment/Kaleidoscope Film Distribution) was released in cinemas nationwide and was the winner of Best Australian Feature Film at the 2023 Monsterfest. ‘Voices in Deep' (2023), starring Angeliki Papoulia (Dogtooth, The Lobster), premiered at MIFF. ‘Slant (2022)’, starring Sigrid Thornton, had a limited theatrical release across Australia. Her portfolio boasts ARIA-nominated music videos (Sampa the Great, Amy Shark) showcased at major Australian (MIFF, Flickerfest, St Kilda FF, Sydney Lift Off FF) and international festivals such as Dances With Films and New York Shorts International FF.

Tessa's collaborations extend to multimedia projects such as the video projection design for David Bowie's musical 'Lazarus' with award-winning director Natasha Pincus. Her long-form credits include the AACTA-nominated Venice Film Festival premiering ‘West of Sunshine’, the Screen Australia-supported horror anthology' Dark Place', and the documentary ‘The Art of Incarceration’, highlighting the over-representation of Indigenous Australians in the prison system, which was released globally on Netflix.

Tessa has been selected for professional development programs, including a production placement in 2016 through Vicscreen on The Doctor Blake Mysteries (ABC) as an Assistant Production Coordinator. In 2021, she participated in the SBS and Screen Australia-funded 'Digital Originals' initiative developing the queer web series' Unicorn Hunters’ with creator Rae Perks. Tessa was selected as one of only 12 up-and-coming early-career producers by Screen Producers Australia's Ones to Watch cohort for 2023 and is being mentored by Lisa Shaunessy of Arcadia.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Film and Digital Media from Deakin University and a Graduate Certificate in Creative Business obtained from the Compton School at the University of Canberra.

"I prioritise genuine collaborations and authentic partnerships, always keeping international resonance, audience engagement, and personal challenges at the forefront. My ultimate vision is to champion underrepresented voices on a global cinematic platform, ensuring that they lead the way."
